Himachal Pradesh: Youths given fake interview letters in name of recruitment into Air Force

The young men who were duped into believing they would be recruited into the Air Force were given fake interview call letters. The State CID’s preliminary investigation revealed that the accused took the three young men to the Air Force headquarters in Delhi after extorting lakhs of rupees from them.

There, the young men were made to sit in a park outside the headquarters and fill out forms. They were then sent away with the assurance that their recruitment would be processed.

The families of the victims have handed over the fake interview call letters to the CID. The investigation so far has revealed that the accused took bank account details and lakhs of rupees from the complainants. Whenever the accused informed them of a recruitment date, they were given the runaround and told that the recruitment had been canceled.

When the accused continued to stall and give false assurances to the complainants even after taking lakhs of rupees, they realized they had been defrauded. They then started demanding their money back. Pankaj returned Rs. 80,000, but continued to evade returning the remaining amount.

Over a period of two years, between 2022 and 2024, a total of Rs. 11.5 lakhs was taken from two families for the recruitment of three young men. However, neither did they get the jobs nor were their money returned. Further investigations may reveal more details about the case.
