Fresh Snowfall in Himachal’s Higher Reaches, Tourists Flock to Manali and Lahaul-Spiti

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh’s higher reaches received fresh snowfall over the past 24 hours. The cold returned to the higher reaches after snowfall at Shinkula Pass, Rohtang Pass, Atal Tunnel, and Koksar.

Tourists Rush to Snow-Covered Destinations

Meanwhile, a large number of tourists from across the country have begun arriving at various tourist destinations in Kullu-Manali and Lahaul-Spiti to see the snow. Tourists are enjoying the snow, especially at Rohtang, Shinkula Pass, Atal Tunnel, and Koksar.

Mall Road in Manali Buzzing Till Late Evening

Manali’s Mall Road has also become lively with tourists until late in the evening.The snowfall has caused a drop in the minimum temperature in the higher elevations. Icy winds also blew in some areas of Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur last night, increasing the cold in the higher elevations.

Fog increased the cold in the plains

Meanwhile, fog has increased the cold in the plains as well. Bilaspur, Una, and Mandi have been experiencing dense fog since this morning. This is impacting vehicular movement. The dense fog is particularly prevalent around the Bhakra Dam, in Mandi’s Balh Valley, and in Sundernagar.

The minimum temperature in Kukumseri dropped to -5.4 degrees Celsius and in Tabo to 4.7 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in other areas also dropped.

The weather will be clear in the entire state from today

According to the Meteorological Department, clear weather is forecast for most parts of the state for the next six days, starting today. There is no possibility of rain or snowfall during this period. This will result in daytime temperatures being above normal.
