Himachal Pradesh: 331 Gramin Dak Sevaks to be recruited in the state, notification issued.

The Postal Department is going to recruit for 331 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) posts in Himachal Pradesh. The Postal Directorate has issued a notification regarding this. Out of the total 331 posts, 137 are unreserved. In addition, 62 posts are reserved for OBCs, 83 for Scheduled Castes, 12 for Scheduled Tribes, and 37 for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). The Postal Department has kept the recruitment process entirely digital.

Online Registration and Application Process from February 10th
The online registration and application process will begin on February 10th and continue until March 3rd. An opportunity to correct any errors in the application will be provided from March 6th to March 8th, 2026.

The department has clarified that no applications will be accepted, nor will any modifications be allowed after the stipulated date. The recruitment will fill the positions of Branch Post Master (BPM), Assistant Branch Post Master (ABPM), and Gramin Dak Sevak.

Selection Process will be Entirely Merit-Based
The selection process will be entirely merit-based, and no written examination will be conducted. Candidates will be selected based on a merit list prepared from the marks obtained in the 10th standard. The age limit for recruitment is 18 to 40 years. Age relaxation will be provided to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per rules.
