IMD Issues Heatwave Alert in Four Himachal Districts; Rain and Snowfall Likely From March 11

Shimla: The Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert in four districts of Himachal Pradesh today. According to the IMD, a heatwave is likely to occur in Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, and Solan districts today (Sunday). According to the Meteorological Center, the state will experience significant changes in the weather after this time.

The weather will remain clear for two days, and then, starting March 11th, a western disturbance will activate in the state. This will have a significant impact on the state. After this, a period of rain and snowfall is likely to begin in the state. The IMD predicts that the weather in the state may change significantly between March 11th and 13th.

Chances of rain on March 11

During this period, light to moderate rain is expected in the mid- and high-altitude areas, while light snowfall is possible in higher elevations. Thunderstorms and strong winds of up to 30 to 40 kilometers per hour are also expected in some locations.

The department has issued a warning for thunderstorms and strong winds in some areas of Chamba, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi districts around March 11. Strong winds are also likely in Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti districts.

According to the Meteorological Department, there will be no significant change in minimum and maximum temperatures for the next three to four days. However, temperatures in the mid- and high mountain regions may drop by 2 to 8 degrees Celsius after the weather changes.
