SHIMLA: In an administrative update, the Department of Home, Government of Himachal Pradesh, has issued official transfer and posting orders for three senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers. The notification was formally released on August 10, 2026, following recommendations from the Civil Services Board and was signed by Chief Secretary Kamlesh Kumar Pant (IAS) in the public interest.

Key Postings in IRBn Sakoh and Cyber Crime CID

• Mayank Chaudhary, IPS (HP:2019): Previously serving as Superintendent of Police (Leave Reserve) at Police Headquarters, Shimla, he has been posted as the Commandant of the 2nd Indian Reserve Battalion (IRBn) at Sakoh, District Kangra.

• Amit Yadav, IPS (HP:2019): Transferred from his assignment as Commandant, 2nd IRBn Sakoh, and appointed as the Superintendent of Police, Cyber Crime (CID) in Shimla.

Senior DIG Relieved from TTR Post

• Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi, IPS (HP:2012): Relieved of his duties as Deputy Inspector General of Police (Traffic, Tourist & Railways), Shimla. His services have been placed at the disposal of the Department of Personnel, Government of Himachal Pradesh, where he will await his next administrative assignment.

Compliance Orders Issued Across State Cadre

Copies of the notification signed by Special Secretary (Home) Manoj Kumar Chauhan (IAS) have been forwarded for immediate execution and compliance. Receivers include key authorities such as the Ministry of Home Affairs (New Delhi), Director General of Police (HP), IGPs/DIGs of all ranges, and Superintendents of Police (SPs) across all districts.
