Yellow alert issued in 9 Himachal districts as rainfall surpasses seasonal average

Shimla: There is a yellow alert for rain in 9 districts of Himachal Pradesh today. Rain is forecast in all the districts except Chamba, Kinnaur and Lahaul Spiti. During this period, there may be heavy rain at some places. Monsoon will weaken for three days from tomorrow. At the same time, this monsoon season has received 45 percent more rain than normal.

According to the Meteorological Department, the normal rainfall between June 1 and September 7 is 652.1 mm, but this time 948.5 mm of rain has already fallen. Kullu district has received 1027.2 mm of rain as compared to the normal rainfall of 475.1 mm. Shimla district has also received more than double the normal rainfall of 551.6 mm i.e. 1169.3 mm.

Bilaspur district has also received 78 percent more rain than normal, Una 72 percent, Chamba 33 percent, Hamirpur 52 percent, Kangra 14 percent, Kinnaur 40 percent, Mandi 68 percent, Sirmaur 46 percent and Solan has received 75 percent more rain than normal. This heavy rain has caused devastation in the mountains.

Private and personal property worth Rs. 4080 crore destroyed

Due to this, private and personal property worth Rs 4080 crore has been destroyed in the state. Due to heavy rains, 1194 houses have been completely destroyed and 5077 houses have been partially damaged.

824 roads including 2 NHs are closed

Due to continuous rain for the last one week in the state, 824 roads including 2 national highways are still closed. Most of these roads are blocked for 10 days. Due to this, people are also facing problems.
