13-Year-Old Dies in Mandi of Himachal After Being Denied Permission to Play

Mandi: A 13-year-old class 9 student tragically died by suicide in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. The boy reportedly took the drastic step after his parents asked him to study and not waste time playing following his annual examinations.

Family Finds Boy Hanging

On Thursday evening, after scolding the boy, his mother went to the kitchen. About an hour later, she returned and found her son hanging from a fan hook. She screamed, and family members rushed to the room. The boy was immediately taken to the Civil Hospital, Sarkaghat, where doctors declared him dead. The family is deeply saddened, as he was their only child.

Police Investigation Underway

Vinod Kumar confirmed that the family has not suspected foul play. The police are investigating the incident from all angles to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

Residents of Bara Samahal village and the Sarkaghat subdivision are shocked and saddened by the incident. Authorities have urged parents to be mindful of their children’s mental and emotional well-being, especially during stressful periods like examinations.
