Himachal Weather: Clear Skies, Temperatures Above Normal

Shimla: The weather in Himachal Pradesh will remain completely clear until March 6th. There is no chance of rain or snowfall during this period. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), all districts except Kinnaur, Shimla, and Sirmaur will experience less than normal rainfall throughout March.

There is a 20 percent increased chance of heat waves in low- and medium-altitude areas from March to May. Mild heat waves may also occur in high mountain areas. Heat waves may also occur during the last 10 days of March.

Except for Solan district, the average minimum and maximum temperatures in other areas of the state will remain above normal. Currently, the state’s average minimum temperature is 2.8 degrees Celsius above normal, and the average maximum temperature is 4.8 degrees Celsius above normal. In some cities, it has reached 9 degrees above normal.

Kalpa’s mercury is 9 degrees above normal

Kalpa in Kinnaur recorded a maximum temperature of 16.5 degrees Celsius, 8.9 degrees above normal. Bhuntar recorded a 6.6 degree rise to 25.9 degrees Celsius, Shimla recorded a 5.2 degree rise to 18.5 degrees Celsius, Kangra recorded a 7.5 degree rise to 27.8 degrees Celsius, and Manali also recorded a 6.0 degree rise to 18.6 degrees Celsius.

85% less rainfall in February

The state also received 85 percent less rainfall than normal in February. According to the IMD, the state normally receives 101.8 mm of rainfall between February 1st and 28th, but this time only 15.7 mm of rain was recorded.
