Dense Fog Covers Himachal Pradesh Plains; Light Snowfall Expected in Mountains

Shimla: Dense fog has covered the plains and low-lying areas of Himachal Pradesh, causing road traffic to slow down. According to the Meteorological Centre, Shimla, most parts of the state are not expected to receive rain for the next two to three days.

Lowest temperature recorded in Kukumseri

The lowest temperature in the state was recorded in Kukumseri at minus 4.2 degrees Celsius.

Light rain and snowfall in mid and high-altitude areas

According to the Meteorological Department, light rain and snowfall is expected in mid and high-altitude areas from December 30 due to the influence of a western disturbance. Light snowfall is also expected in high-altitude areas at the beginning of the new year.

Dense fog warning

A dense fog warning has been issued for Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Mandi, Solan and Sirmaur districts. Visibility is expected to remain very low in these districts during morning and night. Dense fog may affect road traffic, especially in Una and Bilaspur.

Temperature fluctuations

There has been no significant change in the minimum temperature during the last 24 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature may increase by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius during the next two to three days, but then it may again fall by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature is also expected to decrease in the coming days.
