Himachal Pradesh Weather to Remain Dry; Dense Fog Warning Issued Till January 6

Shimla: The weather in Himachal Pradesh is expected to remain mainly dry for the next few days. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), Shimla, there is no possibility of rain or snowfall in the lower, middle and most of the higher hill areas of the state.

Western Disturbance Likely to Activate on January 6

However, the department predicts that a western disturbance will become active in the state on January 6. This could lead to light rain or snowfall in some higher altitude areas, but its impact is expected to be limited.

Visibility to Drop in Una, Kangra, Mandi, Solan and Others

The Meteorological Department has issued a dense fog warning for the lower hilly and plain districts from January 4th to 6th. Visibility is expected to be very low during the morning and night hours in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Mandi, Solan, and Sirmaur districts. Cold day-like conditions are also possible in these areas. There will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over the next 48 hours.

Minimum temperature likely to rise

Minimum temperatures are expected to rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius thereafter. Maximum temperatures are also expected to rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius over the next 3-4 days. Recently, a minimum temperature of -7 degrees Celsius was recorded in Kukumseri, and a maximum of 22.3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Bajaura, Bilaspur.

There is no possibility of heavy rain, widespread snowfall, or thunderstorms during this period. Only light snowfall is possible in the higher elevations on January 6th.

Drivers advised to be cautious in fog

People are advised to exercise caution while driving in dense fog during the morning and evening hours. Elderly people and children should take precautions against the cold. Farmers and gardeners are advised to take necessary precautions in anticipation of frost.
