Heatwave Alert in Himachal Pradesh; Rain and Snowfall Likely From Tonight

Shimla: A heatwave alert remains in effect in Himachal Pradesh today. A change in weather is expected from late tonight. The Meteorological Department has stated that due to the activation of a Western Disturbance, rain and snowfall may occur at many places in the state between March 11 and 14. The IMD has forecast that rain, snowfall, hailstorms, and strong winds may occur in many parts of the state. A yellow alert has been issued for some districts

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain dry in most areas of the state today. Heatwave conditions, ranging from severe heatwaves, are possible in several districts during this period. A yellow heatwave alert has been issued for Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, and Solan districts, especially today, March 10th.

Thunderstorm, hailstorm in Chamba, Kangra, Shimla

A change in the weather is expected in the state from late tonight. After this, the weather will change in the state on March 11th and 12th. During this period, there is a possibility of rain accompanied by thunderstorms, hailstorms, and strong winds of 40 to 50 km per hour in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla districts. A yellow alert has also been issued for these districts. A warning of strong winds has also been issued in Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti districts.

Snowfall between 11 and 15

Regarding rain and snowfall, light rain and snowfall is expected in the mid- and high-altitude regions between March 11 and 15. Shimla, Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti, Kullu, Chamba, and the upper reaches may also experience light snowfall. Light rain is also expected at many locations on March 13 and 14.

According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, rain is expected in many parts of the state until March 15. During this period, the central and high mountain regions will be most affected, while only a few places in the plains are likely to receive light rain.
