Himachal Weather Update: Snowfall Likely on December 28, Temperatures Remain Above Normal

Shimla: Snowfall is expected again in the higher elevations of Himachal Pradesh on December 28th. However, the weather will remain fairly clear for the next five days. During this time, temperatures will remain above normal in most areas. Except for the city of Nahan, minimum temperatures remained above normal.

Minimum Temperatures Stay Above Normal

The state’s average minimum temperature has risen 3.5 degrees above normal. Some cities have recorded temperatures as high as 7 degrees. Mandi’s minimum temperature has reached 6.6 degrees, up from 6.8 degrees above normal.

Cities Record Significant Temperature Rise

Kalpa recorded a 3.6 degree Celsius rise, 6.1 degrees above normal, Shimla recorded a 9.8 degree Celsius rise, 5.3 degrees above normal, and Solan recorded a 7.0 degree Celsius rise, 5.5 degrees above normal. Minimum temperatures in other cities also increased.

The maximum temperature of the state is also 4.4 degrees above normal.

Similarly, the state’s average maximum temperature has risen 4.4 degrees above normal. Kalpa’s maximum temperature saw the highest jump of 8.6 degrees, reaching 16.6 degrees Celsius.

The temperature of Bhuntar in Kullu has reached 23.8 degrees with a rise of 6.4 degrees, the mercury of Shimla has also reached 18.6 degrees with a rise of 5 degrees.

Fog warning in these districts

The Meteorological Center, Shimla, has issued a yellow alert for dense fog in Mandi and Bilaspur today. Fog will also occur in the lower areas of Kangra, Solan, Sirmaur, Una, and Hamirpur districts.
