Himachal Pradesh Weather: Light Snowfall Likely in Lahaul-Spiti, Temperatures Above Normal

Shimla: The weather in Himachal Pradesh is expected to change slightly on March 7 and 8. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), light snowfall is possible on the higher altitudes of Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur, Chamba, and Kullu districts during these two days. However, the weather is expected to remain generally clear in other areas of the state.

Clear Skies for Four Days

According to the IMD, the weather will remain clear across the state for the next four days, starting today. No rain or snowfall is expected during this period. The clear weather will cause temperatures to rise. Temperatures in most cities across the state are already well above normal.

The state’s average maximum temperature was recorded 4 degrees Celsius above normal, while the minimum temperature also increased by 1.6 degrees. In the tribal area of ​​Kalpa, the maximum temperature rose 8.5 degrees above normal to 17.7 degrees Celsius.

Kangra, Manali and Bhuntar Record Sharp Rise

The mercury in Kangra reached 28.0 degrees Celsius, 6.1 degrees above normal. The maximum temperature in tourist town Manali rose by 5.1 degrees to 19.5 degrees Celsius. The temperature in Bhuntar rose by 5.4 degrees above normal to reach 26.3 degrees Celsius.

Night Temperatures Also Rise Across the State

Similarly, the minimum temperature in many cities has risen 4 to 6 degrees above normal. Bharmour in Chamba reached 10.0 degrees Celsius, 6.2 degrees above normal. Shimla and Una also recorded a 3.3 degree increase in minimum temperatures, with Shimla reaching 9.4 degrees Celsius and 10.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.
