Himachal Pradesh Weather: Western Disturbance to Affect Himachal Pradesh from March 7

Shimla: A Western Disturbance (WD) is expected to become active in Himachal Pradesh tomorrow (Saturday). Its effects will be visible until March 11th. Light rain and snowfall is expected only in higher elevations on March 7th. Clear weather will remain on the 8th, but rain and snowfall are expected again from March 9th to 11th.

Especially on March 11th, clouds will rain across the state. During this time, light snowfall is forecast on the high peaks of Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur, Chamba, and Kullu, and rain in other areas. The rain and snowfall will bring relief from the heat. A significant rise in temperature has been recorded during the past 24 hours.

The previous record temperature was 24.4 degrees Celsius on March 20, 2010.

Manali records second highest temperature of March

The temperature in Shimla has also reached 25.2 degrees after a jump of 10.0 degrees from normal. The record temperature of March in Shimla is 27.2 degrees, but it is of 27 March 2004. The temperature has never reached this high in the first week of March. The temperature in Manali has also reached 25.2 degrees after a jump of 10.8 degrees. The record temperature of March in Manali till date was 27.5 degrees on 17 and 22 March 2022. That means today the second highest temperature of March has been reached in Manali.

Kangra’s mercury is 11.1 degrees above normal

The temperature in Kangra also rose by 11.1 degrees to 33.0 degrees Celsius. Kangra’s record March temperature was 34.8 degrees on March 30, 2022. Temperatures in eight cities across the state exceeded 30 degrees Celsius. Normally, the weather in the mountains remains cool during the first week of March, but this time, April-like heat has already begun to set in. Neri in Hamirpur recorded a maximum temperature of 34.5 degrees Celsius.
