Himachal Pradesh: Wife murdered with axe in Kutahan village; accused husband arrested

A harrowing incident came to light in Kutahan village, located in the Lambagaon area. Here, a man murdered his wife by striking her with an axe. The police have taken the accused husband into custody and have initiated an investigation into the matter.

According to the information received, the accused has been identified as Sunny Kumar, a resident of Lambagaon. It is reported that on Sunday, he had taken his wife, Kalti Devi, for a ritualistic healing session (Jhad-phoonk. Late that night, around 12:00 AM, he arrived at his brother’s house in Kutahan with his wife.

On Monday morning, at approximately 4:30 AM, the accused attacked his wife with an axe, resulting in her death on the spot. At the time of the incident, the accused’s brother was sleeping in another room. As soon as he became aware of the crime, he immediately informed the police.

The accused hails from Bir-Baijnath

Upon receiving the information, the police rushed to the scene and took the accused into custody. The deceased is survived by two young sons and a daughter. It is reported that while the accused is originally a native of Bir-Baijnath, his family has been residing in Lambagaon for several decades. The police have taken custody of the body and have commenced further legal proceedings. SP Ashok Ratan has confirmed the incident.
