Himachal Pradesh ready for New Year celebrations: Kasauli, Chail, and Dalhousie flocked with tourists

Himachal Pradesh’s tourist destinations are ready to welcome the New Year 2026. Snowfall in the higher reaches and ongoing events at tourist spots have made the New Year celebrations even more attractive.

Restaurants to remain open till midnight

Thousands of tourists are flocking to the state’s tourist destinations every day. Kasauli, Chail, and Dalhousie are packed with tourists. Even in Shimla and Manali, up to 85 percent of the rooms are booked. A New Year Queen will be chosen in Dharamshala and Chail on New Year’s Eve. For the convenience of tourists, dhabas and restaurants in the state will remain open until midnight.

On Tuesday, a large number of tourists headed to Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala, Chail, and Dalhousie to welcome the New Year. The influx of tourists has been steadily increasing over the past few days, and bookings are in full swing at most hotels, homestays, and guesthouses.

Special Programs organised by Tourism Corporation 

Special programs are being organized by the Tourism Corporation and private hotel managements on New Year’s Eve. Hotels have made arrangements for New Year parties, live music, DJ nights, and bonfires. Shimla and Manali are expected to remain bustling until late at night.

According to the tourism department, the number of tourists is expected to increase further until the first week of the new year. The administration has also completed necessary preparations regarding traffic, security, and emergency services so that tourists can enjoy a safe and memorable New Year.

The doors of the sanctum sanctorum will open at midnight at the Shakti Peethas.
Special arrangements have been made at the Shakti Peethas and major temples for the convenience of devotees on the occasion of the New Year. The doors of several temples will open at midnight so that devotees can begin the new year with darshan (viewing of the deity).
