HPRCA: Recruitment rules changed, examinations will be conducted under CCTV surveillance

The Himachal Pradesh government has made major changes to the functioning of the State Selection Commission. Amendments to the Commission (Business and Procedure) Rules 2024 have been made to make examinations more transparent and technology-based.

The Personnel Department has issued a notification in the gazette regarding this. Now, all recruitment examinations conducted under the State Selection Commission will be under CCTV surveillance. Any violation of the examination, hacking, or use of Bluetooth will result in a lifetime ban from appearing in the examination.

However, regular and job trainee posts will remain separate. Admit cards will now have QR codes and barcodes. Information regarding examinations will be available via SMS and email. Departments will be required to submit proposals online through the Recruitment Directorate. Other boards, corporations, and undertakings will also be able to submit vacancies with government approval.

Minimum application period fixed
The minimum application period has also been set at 21 days. All officials and paper setters participating in the examination will also be required to provide a no-relationship certificate. In case of a small number of candidates, the examination will be conducted using OMR sheets.

According to the notification, the name of the Himachal Pradesh State Selection Commission, Hamirpur, will be changed to simply Himachal Pradesh State Selection Commission. OBC, EWS, and BPL certificates will be required to be presented on the application deadline and at the time of document verification.
