The cold wave continues to affect Himachal Pradesh. Nighttime temperatures were recorded below freezing in nine locations across the state, while two places recorded temperatures at zero degrees Celsius. The biting cold has intensified from the hilly regions to the plains.

Minimum temperatures are below 10 degrees Celsius in all parts of the state. The snowfall in Rohtang, Solangnala, and Pangi the previous day has further intensified the cold wave in the tribal areas. Meanwhile, dense fog prevailed in Bilaspur, moderate fog in Paonta Sahib, and light fog in Una. Sunshine is visible today in the capital Shimla and other parts of the state.

According to the Meteorological Center Shimla, clear weather is forecast across the state until January 13th. A yellow alert has been issued for dense fog in the morning and evening in some areas of Bilaspur, Una, Mandi, Hamirpur, Kangra, Solan, and Sirmaur until January 11th. A yellow alert for a cold wave has also been issued for some places on January 7th and 8th. Meanwhile, due to the decrease in the water level of the Ravi River, power generation has stopped at two hydroelectric projects in Holi. According to the department, there will be no significant change in the minimum temperature in the next 48 hours. After that, it is likely to gradually increase by approximately 2-4 degrees Celsius over the next 3-4 days. The maximum temperature is also expected to gradually increase by 2-3 degrees Celsius in many areas.

The maximum temperature also below freezing in Tabo
In the tribal area of ​​Tabo, the maximum temperature was also recorded below freezing on Tuesday. The mercury in Tabo was at minus 0.1 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature was recorded at 2.8 degrees Celsius in Kukumseri, 4.7 in Kufri, 5.3 in Narkanda, 6.4 in Kalpa, 9.8 in Manali, 12.4 in Shimla, 17.1 in Dharamshala, 17.0 in Una, 16.7 in Nahan, 18.5 in Solan, 19.7 in Kangra, 18.6 in Hamirpur, and 20.2 degrees Celsius in Mandi.
