143 posts of LDR quota will be filled by SMC teachers in Himachal, order issued

The process of starting Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) based curriculum and getting affiliation from CBSE in 200 government schools of the state from the next academic year i.e. 2026-27 has been expedited.

To implement this decision of the government, the Directorate of School Education has taken steps to prepare a roadmap. In this regard, a provisional list of 229 government schools has also been released. In this, there is a plan to make 47 PM Shri and Excellence Schools CBSE. Apart from these, 150 other schools will be selected.

The remaining 1284 (1427-143) posts of SMC teachers can be filled with a relaxation of 5 percent LDR rate against the vacancies available in the coming years and this relaxation will also be given only to the vacancies falling in the batch byes quota category.

However, as 1284 vacancies are not available under 5 per cent LDR quota and batch-wise quota this year, the selected SMC candidates (against a total of 1284 posts) will be included in the vacancies likely to arise in future under LDR and batch-wise quota, with relaxation in the recruitment and appointment rules of the respective categories.

The recruitment process will be conducted through Himachal Pradesh School Education Board, Dharamshala. These 1427 SMC teachers will be recruited as job trainees, according to a notification issued by the Personnel Department.
