Himachal: Teacher sexually harasses student, FIR lodged under POCSO act

A case of a teacher-student relationship being torn apart has come to light in the Sainj area. A teacher has been accused of sexually assaulting a student. The accused teacher had called the student to his room along with two other friends. Following the complaint, the police have now registered an FIR against the accused under the POCSO Act.

According to the complaint filed by the school principal, on February 19th, a school spokesperson called three female students to his room without the knowledge of higher officials and staff.

The spokesperson sent two female students to the kitchen to cook, and forced the third student to iron clothes. He then sexually assaulted the student. The accused also committed indecent acts with her. He threatened the students not to tell anyone about the incident. The incident has sparked numerous discussions and demands for action against the accused teacher.

In this regard, Superintendent of Police Madan Lal Kaushal stated that the police are investigating the matter after registering an FIR. He said that action will be taken in the matter as per the rules.
