Himachal: Appointments of teachers failing to join by the stipulated deadline will be cancelled; order issued

The Himachal Pradesh Directorate of Education has issued a crucial directive regarding newly selected Mathematics and English teachers, clarifying that no further extensions to the joining period will be granted. Candidates who fail to assume duty within the stipulated timeframe will have their appointments automatically cancelled.

This decision follows the appointment orders issued on June 11 and June 15, 2026. The department noted that while previous orders had undergone periodic amendments, the joining deadline will not be extended further under any circumstances.

Final Opportunity Until July 13
According to the order, newly selected Mathematics and English teachers who have not yet assumed duty at their allotted schools are granted a final opportunity to do so by 5:00 PM on July 13, 2026.

If a candidate fails to join by the prescribed time, their appointment will be automatically withdrawn without further notice, and the appointment order will be deemed cancelled.

Report to be Submitted by July 14
The Directorate of Education has instructed all District Deputy Directors (Secondary Education) to mandatorily submit a consolidated list of candidates who fail to assume duty by the deadline to the Directorate by 11:00 AM on July 14, 2026, to facilitate further action.

This order has been issued by the Director of Education, Himachal Pradesh. Copies have also been forwarded to the Education Secretary, all District Deputy Directors, Principals of Government Senior Secondary Schools, and the department’s IT wing for necessary action.
