Tehsildars, Nayab Tehsildars on one-day pen down strike; Read to know why

Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars in Himachal Pradesh are on a pen-down strike today. This is affecting the work of people in tehsil offices across the state. The Himachal Tehsildar Welfare Association has announced a one-day pen-down strike today.

Why are Tehsildars on strike?

The Tehsildar Welfare Association is unhappy with the assault on an on-duty Tehsildar by people accompanying deities during the Kullu International Dussehra. Three days ago, the association submitted a memorandum to the Chief Secretary demanding appropriate action against the culprits.

However, appropriate action has not been taken against the culprits. Angered by this, Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars have gone on a one-day strike today. More than 300 revenue officers across the state have gone on strike today.

This has disrupted work related to revenue collection, land disputes, authentication of revenue department documents, magisterial law and order at the Tehsildar level, and inheritance.

If strict action is not taken against the culprits, we will launch a violent protest: Verma

Naren Verma, president of the Tehsildar Association, stated that a one-day pen-down strike has been announced. He clarified that no work, online or offline, will be conducted today. However, any disaster-related work that arises will be given priority. He warned that if the police do not take action against the culprits today, a decision will be taken to extend the strike.
