Himachal: Temperature rise in plain areas, Rain snowfall likely in high altitude areas

With the onset of March, the heat has arrived in Himachal Pradesh. Temperatures in the plains of Una, Mandi, and Hamirpur have reached over 30 degrees Celsius, while even the capital Shimla, is experiencing sweating.

Clear weather and continuous sunshine have led to an increase in maximum temperatures across the state by about five degrees Celsius. This sudden increase in temperatures has also increased the difference between day and night temperatures.

According to the Meteorological Center, Shimla, the weather is expected to change in the high-altitude areas of the state between March 7th and 9th. Rain and snowfall are expected in the high-altitude areas, leading to a drop in temperatures. According to meteorologists, a new western disturbance is about to become active, which will alter the state’s weather. During this period, cloudy skies, light to moderate rain, and snowfall are expected in the high-altitude areas.

The minimum temperature was recorded at minus 4.1 degrees Celsius in Keylong, minus 3.8 in Kukumseri, minus 2.5 in Tabo, 10.0 in Shimla-Bilaspur, 7.7 in Sundernagar, 6.9 in Bhuntar, 3.6 in Kalpa, 10.3 in Dharamshala, 10.2 in Una, 13.0 in Nahan, 9.0 in Solan, 4.0 in Manali, 8.2 in Mandi, 8.5 in Chamba, 10.5 in Dalhousie, 13.0 in Paonta Sahib and 14.4 degrees Celsius in Neri.
