Himachal: Weather may change again on this day, chances of rain and snowfall in these areas

The weather in Himachal Pradesh may change again. Due to the activity of a Western Disturbance, light rain and snowfall are possible in the state. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature is below 5 degrees Celsius in 13 places in the state.

The mercury is below freezing in three locations. In the tribal district of Lahaul-Spiti, due to sub-zero temperatures in many areas, waterfalls, lakes, and streams have turned into solid ice. The Lingti stream and waterfall have completely frozen over. Today, the sun is shining in the capital, Shimla and other parts of the state.

When will it rain/snow?
According to the Meteorological Center Shimla, the weather is likely to remain dry throughout the state until December 13th. A weak Western Disturbance may become active in the state from the night of December 13th.

Under its influence, light rain and snowfall are possible in the higher mountainous regions of the state on December 14th. The weather is expected to remain clear on December 15th and 16th. A yellow alert for fog has been issued for some plains and lower altitude areas from December 10th to 12th. Shinkula Pass becomes a new snow point

After the Manali-Leh highway was closed due to snowfall, the 16,800-foot-high Shinkula Pass has become a new snow point for tourists. Following recent snowfall, about half a foot of fresh snow has accumulated at Shinkula Pass, leading to a rapid increase in tourist activity.

Considering the demands of tourism businesses, the Lahaul-Spiti administration has granted permission for four-wheel-drive vehicles to travel to Shinkula Pass. Previously, the main snow point for tourists was Baralacha Pass, but after vehicular movement from Darcha to Sarchu was stopped on December 8th, tourists are now heading towards Shinkula.
