Himachal: Weather likely to remain inclement in Himachal Pradesh until June 7

The weather in Himachal Pradesh has taken a turn once again. The Meteorological Centre, Shimla, has issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ for Wednesday, warning of thunderstorms and rain across five districts of the state: Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, and Shimla.

Meanwhile, for Thursday, there is a forecast of rain accompanied by strong winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour across 10 districts of the state. According to the Meteorological Department, inclement weather conditions are likely to persist in the state until June 7.

According to weather experts, during this period, rain is expected in the plains, while snowfall may occur at isolated locations in the high-altitude mountainous regions. Due to this change in weather patterns, the maximum temperatures across the state are expected to drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. On Monday, the weather remained clear throughout the state; however, rainfall activity is likely to intensify in the coming days.

Minimum temperatures recorded across various regions of the state included 14.0 degrees Celsius in Shimla; 19.5 degrees in Sundernagar and Una; 17.6 degrees in Bhuntar and Dharamshala, 15.0 degrees in Solan; and 13.7 degrees Celsius in Manali. The maximum temperature was recorded at 37.0 degrees Celsius in Una, marking the highest temperature recorded across the state.
