Himachal Youth shot dead in Kharar, probe on

A youth was shot dead in Kharar, Mohali district. He was shot dead after partying with friends. The deceased has been identified as Shivang Rana (19), a resident of Una, Himachal Pradesh.

Following the complaint of the deceased’s mother, the police have registered a case against Harvinder alias Harry, a resident of Barnau, Una district, Himachal Pradesh. The reason for the murder is believed to be an old dispute. The police are investigating the case and conducting raids to find the accused.

The student was studying BCA

The mother of the victim said that she is an ASHA worker. She was married to Ajay Kumar, a resident of Ward No. 9 of Dyada district under the Amb police station area of ​​Himachal Pradesh in 2005. “They have two sons, the elder son’s name is Shivang (19) and the younger son’s name is Divang (14). My son, Shivang, was pursuing his BCA degree in a government college in Una, Himachal Pradesh.”

In June 2025, my son came to Kharar for computer coaching. During this time, he lived with his friend Harvinder Singh alias Harry, village Barnau, police station Una, district Una, Himachal Pradesh, in Golden City, Kharar. He would also come home sometimes.

Friends had a party

Friends said that they all had gathered in Kharar on Saturday. They had a party. Suddenly, at 1 pm, Harry left the party and returned to his flat at 2 pm. He showed a pistol kept nearby. When friends asked him about it, he said that it was his own. At 4:30 am, Shivang said that he was hungry. When he sat on the bed and started eating Maggi, a loud explosion was heard.

Police took two friends into custody

Everyone saw Shivang lying on the bed. Harry was holding a pistol in his hand, saying that he had killed Shivang. All the friends ran and got into the car. Harry had a loaded pistol in his hand. He knocked on the car door, but his friends locked him. However, he escaped. A friend informed his family. At the family’s request, all the friends went to the police station. Police also detained two friends at the scene.
