12 thousand devotees visits Kangra’s temples on the first day of Chaitra Navratri

Preparations for Chaitra Navratri have been completed in the major Shaktipeeths of Himachal Pradesh. Special arrangements have been made for the devotees in Shri Chamunda Nandikeshwar Dham, Bajreshwari Mata Temple, Chintapurni Devi Temple, Shri Naina Devi Temple and Jwalamukhi Mata Temple.

Kangra: Preparations for Chaitra Navratri have been completed in the major Shaktipeeths of Himachal Pradesh. Special arrangements have been made for the devotees in Shri Chamunda Nandikeshwar Dham, Bajreshwari Mata Temple, Chintapurni Devi Temple, Shri Naina Devi Temple and Jwalamukhi Mata Temple.

Police and home guards have been deployed for security in all the temples. Surveillance will be done through CCTV cameras and drones.

31 Pandits and 15 assistant Pandits will perform a special Yagya at Shri Chamunda Nandikeshwar Dham. Religious rituals like Saptchandi Paath and Rudrabhishek will be performed. Bajreshwari temple has been decorated with flowers brought from Delhi. Mudraika bus service will be started for the devotees here.

12 thousand devotees visited on the first day

Jwalaji area has been divided into six sectors. 75 additional policemen and 60 temporary workers have been deployed. To maintain a peaceful atmosphere, drums have been banned. On Saturday itself, about 12 thousand devotees took darshan. On the night of Ashtami, 108 types of dishes will be offered to the mother.

The Chintapurni Devi temple, also known as Chhinnamastika Devi, is also witnessing a huge crowd of devotees. It is believed that the feet of Mata Sati fell here. Preparations have also been completed at the Sri Naina Devi temple. The temple premises have been decorated and the Municipal Council has taken care of the cleaning arrangements.

How to reach Kangra

The distance to reach Kangra from Pathankot is 110 km. Buses are available on the Mandi-Pathankot route. Some trains run on the Pathankot-Jogindernagar narrow gauge railway line. Gaggal Airport is 11 km away from Bajreshwari Temple. There are six flights running from Delhi.

Another flight will start on March 30 (today) at 5.20 pm. This flight will arrive from Delhi at 5 pm and will leave for Delhi at 5.20 pm. One can reach here from Delhi by Himachal’s government Himsuta bus service and private luxury buses for just Rs 1200. Hotel and inn facilities are available near every temple.
