17-year-old goes missing from school in Shimla: police launches probe; CCTV footage under review

A minor girl student of a private school in Himachal's capital, Shimla, has gone missing from the school premises. Police have registered a case on the complaint of the school principal.

Shimla, May 3: A minor girl student of a private school in Himachal’s capital, Shimla, has gone missing from the school premises. Police have registered a case on the complaint of the school principal. Police have started scanning the CCTV footage of the school and nearby roads.

School principal Pradeep Sharma told the police that last Friday, a student came to school in the morning. During the class, she went to the toilet after taking permission from the teacher. The teacher waited for her for a long time. But she did not return to the class.

The principal informed the student’s mother and the police

After this, the class teacher informed the school administration about this. As soon as the administration came to know that the student had gone somewhere without telling anyone, the principal immediately informed the student’s mother and the police about this. This incident took place in a private school in Sanjauli, a suburb of Shimla. The student missing from the school is said to be 17 years old.

Police registered a case and started an investigation

The police have registered a case under Section 137(2) of the Indian Penal Code on the complaint of the school principal. At present, no information has been found about the student. The police have formed a team and started searching for the student. The search is still going on.
