Thousands of people dreaming of building houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) in Himachal have been shocked. The PFMS (Public Financial Management System) server has not finalized the verification of the applications of about four thousand such beneficiaries in Himachal Pradesh, even though all the procedures have been completed. It is mandatory for the beneficiaries to link their Aadhaar with their accounts through PFMS. Only then will the further process begin. But Aadhaar has not been linked with their accounts yet.
This has led to pending cases under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In case of not getting linked with the system, even the first installment has not been released to the beneficiaries. In such a situation, the poor who are waiting to build houses will now have to wait to build houses. Only the system will tell whether the Aadhaar cards of the beneficiaries are linked with the account or not or whether it has been accepted or rejected. Such cases are pending for more than six months.
In such a situation, the beneficiaries are also in a dilemma. Houses of 69,329 beneficiaries have been approved in Himachal. Out of which the first installment has been issued to 65,164 beneficiaries but the cases of about 4,000 beneficiaries are stuck in the PFMS server due to lack of Aadhaar link with the accounts.
The main reason behind this is that they have neither been accepted nor rejected under this system yet. Due to this, the dream of building a house for the poor has become blurred. DRDA Project Officer KL Verma says that this problem has come due to lack of Aadhaar link with the system.
