67 teachers from Himachal left for Singapore on exposure visit

Shimla: A group of 67 teachers from Himachal Pradesh left for an exposure visit to Singapore on Thursday. Education Minister Rohit Thakur flagged off the group of teachers from Shimla. In the first batch, teachers of the elementary education department have been sent on a foreign tour today. These include JBT (Junior Basic Teacher), TGT.

Shimla: A group of 67 teachers from Himachal Pradesh left for an exposure visit to Singapore on Thursday. Education Minister Rohit Thakur flagged off the group of teachers from Shimla. In the first batch, teachers of the elementary education department have been sent on a foreign tour today.

These include JBT (Junior Basic Teacher), TGT (Trained Graduate Teacher) and C&V (Classical and Vernacular) teachers. These teachers will visit various educational institutions in Singapore for a week. All their expenses will be borne by the government.

In the second batch, PGTs, headmasters and principals of the Higher Education Department will also go abroad.

Teachers were selected on the basis of merit: Rohit

The Education Minister said that the teachers have been selected with complete transparency and on the basis of merit. He advised the teachers to learn from Singapore’s progress and implement its best educational techniques in their schools. The Education Minister expressed hope that this visit will improve the education level of the state.

Teachers will prepare a report on the educational trip

After returning from this tour, the teachers will prepare a detailed report in which they will share their learnings. This report will be reviewed by the Education Secretary and shared with the Education Minister.

Teachers will get world class training

During the Singapore tour, the teachers will receive training on modern teaching techniques from instructors from institutions such as Oxford and Cambridge Universities. They will receive training on important topics such as effective engagement and development strategies and inquiry and problem-based learning for experiential education.

Selection of best performing teachers for educational tour: Rajesh Sharma

Director of Comprehensive Education Rajesh Sharma told the teachers that as per the instructions of the Education Minister, better arrangements have been made for them so that their journey is better.

Last year also 200 teachers were sent abroad

Himachal government has taken this initiative for qualitative improvement in education. Last year also 200 teachers were sent to Singapore on exposure visit. Teachers have been selected on the basis of merit.
