7 days of state mourning in Himachal Pradesh, flag to fly at half mast

Shimla: Himachal government has declared seven days of state mourning on the demise of the former Prime Minister of the country Dr. Manmohan Singh. In view of this, two days of government holiday have been declared, i.e. today and tomorrow. After this order, all government schools, colleges and offices will remain closed for 2 days.

During this time, the national flag will remain half-mast in the entire state. There will be no official entertainment during the state mourning. That is, cultural programs will not be held at the government level.

Dr. Manmohan has a special attachment with Himachal. He had made 2 ministers in the UPA-2 government from Himachal, a small state with only 4 Lok Sabha seats. He made Anand Sharma and Virbhadra Singh, who were already in central politics, central ministers.

CM expressed condolences

Meanwhile, Himachal Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri have expressed condolences. Both the leaders of the state described the news of Manmohan Singh’s death as an irreparable loss for the Congress. CM Sukhu wrote that his contribution to Indian politics will be remembered for ages. Mukesh Agnihotri wrote, India wrote a new chapter of economic reforms under the leadership of Dr. Manmohan.
