Solan: A Punjab Roadways bus collided with a tipper moving ahead near the Sanwara toll plaza on Parwanoo-Shimla NH 5. During the accident, 15 out of the 30 passengers on the bus suffered serious injuries. This incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Thursday at the Dharampur police station. Near Sanwara toll plaza, the driver of a Punjab Roadways bus (PB-2-EG-9524), which was going from Chandigarh to Shimla, tried to overtake the bus at high speed and carelessly.
While overtaking, the bus collided with a tipper from behind. All the injured passengers were immediately taken to the hospital for treatment, out of which 13 passengers are undergoing treatment in Dharampur and two injured were taken to the regional hospital Solan for treatment. SP Gaurav Singh said that during the investigation and after questioning the passengers sitting in the bus, it was found that this accident happened due to the bus driver overtaking the bus at high speed. The accused driver, Gurjeet Singh, son of Mohinder Singh, a resident of village Madi Mega Tehsil Patti, has been arrested; interrogation is going on.
