Mandi: Rucku over illegal construction in the mosque is not stopping in Himachal Pradesh. After Shimla’s Sanajuli Mosque row, there has been a ruckus in Mandi over the illegal construction of a mosque. Here, members of Hindu outfits tried to go to the illegal mosque. Looking at the condition, Police tried to contain the protestors and put up barricades. Agitated protestors climbed the barricade to cross it. Police tried to disperse the crowd by spraying water from water cannons.
On Friday afternoon, the Municipal Commissioner’s Court ordered the demolition of the illegal construction of this 30-year-old mosque. 30 days were given for this. It was also said that earlier this mosque on Jail Road was a single-storey one, so it will not be touched. However, a day before the court’s decision, on Thursday, people of the Muslim community started demolishing the illegal wall outside the mosque.
The spark of the mosque dispute that started in Sanjauli in the state capital Shimla is rapidly flaring up in other cities as well. Today, for the second time in Mandi, people have come out on the streets against the mosque. In view of the protest by Hindu organizations, the administration has implemented Section 163 of the Indian Penal Code, that is, 5 or more people cannot gather together.
