Alert in Himachal, Pandoh Dam water at danger level: can be released anytime

The Mandi district administration has issued an advisory to tourists including local people not to go to the river bank, because these days tourists coming to visit the mountains from Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and other states park their vehicles on the roadside and enter the river.

Some tourists start bathing while some start taking photos in the middle of the river. In such a situation, due to the release of water from the dam, taking photos and entering the river can be fatal. Such accidents have been happening often. A similar accident occurred last week as well.

SDM Mandi Sadar Omkant Thakur has advised not to go near the banks of Beas as well as Suketi Khad, so that any kind of loss of life and property can be avoided.
