In Himachal Pradesh, heat has started breaking records in the winter season. In the high-altitude areas where it is very cold, there has been an abnormal temperature rise. Shimla and Kalpa recorded the second-record maximum temperature of December on Monday.
The maximum temperature of Shimla reached 21 degrees Celsius, 7 degrees more than normal. Earlier, the record temperature on 8 December 2017 was 21.3 degrees. The record temperature in Kalpa was 19 degrees on 16 December 1991, while last Monday, the maximum temperature of Kalpa reached 18.9 degrees after a rise of 9.9 degrees compared to normal.
The temperature of Dharamshala also rose by 6.6 degrees compared to normal and reached 24.6 degrees Celsius. The average maximum temperature of the state has also become 3.5 degrees more than normal. During the last 24 hours, the temperature of Kalpa and Dharamshala has increased by 5 degrees and the temperature of Tabo has increased by 6 degrees compared to normal.
Meteorological Center Shimla has issued an orange alert of cold wave in 3 districts of the state, Una, Hamirpur and Bilaspur and a yellow alert in Kangra district. This will trouble people a lot in the morning and evening in the plains. This alert has been issued for the next 72 hours i.e. 3 days.
The plains of the state have been experiencing severe cold for the last 3 days, while the weather is continuously getting warmer in the medium altitude areas. The situation is such that the minimum temperature of Shimla has also reached 11.2 degrees, 5.3 degrees more than normal. Similarly, the minimum temperature of Narkanda has also become 8.5 degrees and the temperature of Kufri has become 10.8 degrees Celsius.
Usually, the minimum temperature in Shimla, Narkanda and Kufri falls to around the freezing point after December 15. But this time the temperature is rising.
