Shimla: In Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla, amidst the mosque dispute, Devbhoomi Sangharsh Samiti is appealing for boycott of the Muslim community. The committee is putting up boards of ‘Sanatan Sabji Wala’ outside fruit and vegetable shops in Shimla’s suburb Sanjauli market.
During this, Hindu outfit, Devbhoomi Sangharsh Samiti, appealed people to buy fruits and vegetables only from Hindu shopkeepers. This has again heated up the atmosphere of Shimla, which had calmed down on October 7 after the Shimla Municipal Corporation Commissioner ordered the demolition of the illegal part of the mosque.
Co-convener of Devbhoomi Sangharsh Samiti Vijay Sharma said that the committee started this campaign in Sanjauli. The objective of this campaign is to promote Hindu fruit and vegetable vendors in the Sanjauli area. They are appealing to the people not to buy from outsiders and promote local shopkeepers, so that their business can continue. He said, boards titled ‘Sanatan Sabji Wala’ (Hindu Vegetable Seller) boards are being put up in the shops of all fruit and vegetable vendors.
Let us tell you that there are a large number of fruit and vegetable vendors from outside states in Shimla. After the mosque controversy, Hindu organizations have become angry with the businessmen of a particular community from outside states.
