Auto fell into a 300 meter deep gorge in Shimla

An auto rickshaw fell into a 300 meter deep gorge in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, killing the auto driver. The accident took place late in the evening near Darshak Nala on Racholi Pashada link road near Rampur.

Rampur: An auto rickshaw fell into a 300 meter deep gorge in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, killing the auto driver. The accident took place late in the evening near Darshak Nala on Racholi Pashada link road near Rampur.

Nand Lal was driving his auto rickshaw from Ropadu to Rampur. As soon as he reached near the Darshai Nala, he lost control over his auto. The auto fell straight into the ditch and got stuck to a tree. As soon as the information was received, the police and fire brigade team reached the spot. With the help of local people, after a lot of hard work, the body was tied with a rope and pulled out of the ditch.

The deceased was a resident of Pashada Tehsil Rampur. The police has taken the body into custody and sent it to Mahatma Gandhi Khaneri Hospital for postmortem. DSP Rampur Naresh Sharma said that the police has registered a case and started investigating the cause of the accident. After the postmortem, the body will be handed over to the family.
