People of Himachal Pradesh will also get Himachal Bhawan for accommodation in Gujarat and Haridwar. The government is considering providing accommodation facilities to those going there, for which the General Administration Department has started looking for land.
The General Administration Department has raised the issue with the governments there and a solution is expected soon. While the General Administration Department is demanding land on lease from the state governments, it has no problem if it has to buy any land at cheap rates.
The same is being done in Chandigarh and Delhi as well. It is said that Housing Board land is available at two places in Chandigarh, for which negotiations are going on. Earlier, land was seen in Panchkula, which the government was ready to buy. But now changing its intention, the government has decided to buy land in Chandigarh itself.
There is a great need for the government to build Himachal Bhawan here, because a large number of people go there, who are not able to get accommodation facilities. The Himachal Bhawan currently running there is not sufficient. On the other hand, another Himachal Bhawan is being constructed in Dwarka, Delhi, where about 150 rooms are under construction.
The four-storey lintel has been laid here and recently Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh took stock of the work there. The General Administration Department has released an amount of Rs 19 crore on Monday to expedite the work. However, on the instructions of the government, the General Administration Department is looking for land in Gujarat and Haridwar.
