Bike rams into divider: Pillion rider dies, one injured in Bilaspur

Both the youths had gone to visit Rewalsar with their friends by renting a bike from Chandigarh.

A bike collided with a divider at Kallar in Bilaspur on Kiratpur-Manali four-lane highway. A youth from Haridwar died in the collision. At the same time, a youth from Shimla was seriously injured, whose treatment is going on at AIIMS Bilaspur.

Both the youths had gone to visit Rewalsar with their friends by renting a bike from Chandigarh. This accident happened while returning. In a statement given to the police, Kartik Sharma, resident of village Raanvi Post Office Sarahan Tehsil Rampur District Shimla has told that he went to visit Rewalsar in Mandi with his friends Abhinav, Aman Thakur, Harmilan and Divyansh by renting a bike from Chandigarh.

They were returning to Chandigarh on Sunday. At night, on reaching Kallar in Bilaspur on Kiratpur-Nerchowk four lane, the bike on which Aman and Divyansh were sitting collided with the divider. In the accident, bike rider Aman Thakur (20) son of Madan Thakur resident of village Ratanpur post office Kartot tehsil Rampur district Shimla and Divyansh (21) son of Rajaram resident of lane number-4 near Panch Hanuman Mandir West Amber Talab tehsil Haridwar Uttarakhand were injured.

Divyansh died in AIIMS
With the help of people present on the spot, the injured were taken to AIIMS Bilaspur, where Divyansh died. Aman Thakur is undergoing treatment. The case has been confirmed by Additional Superintendent of Police Shiv Chaudhary.
