In Himachal Pradesh, the Bharatiya Janata Party is busy in the campaign to select new district council. The Bharatiya Janata Party has 16 organizational districts in Himachal Pradesh. In these, presidents have been elected unanimously in nine districts.
This process will be completed in the other seven districts by Monday i.e. January 6. Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj, the election officer of the organization in the state, said that elections have been completed unanimously in nine districts. This process will be completed in the other seven districts by Monday as well. The responsibility for this has been given to the big leaders of the state level.
Who became the president where?
Himachal BJP’s state vice-president and state co-election officer Sanjeev Katwal said that Dheeraj Naryal from Chamba, Ragini Rakwal from Palampur, Ajay Khatta from Dehra, Amit Sood from Kullu, Heera Lal from Sundernagar, Nihal Chand Sharma from Mandi, Ratan Singh Pal from Solan, Dheeraj Gupta from Sirmaur and Ringjin Hariyappa from Lahaul Spiti have been elected as presidents. Heera Lal, who became president from Sundernagar, has also been an MLA from Karsog assembly constituency under Mandi district. Similarly, Ratan Singh Pal has contested elections twice on a Bharatiya Janata Party ticket from Arki assembly constituency of Solan district.
Leaders had approached Nadda for lobbying
The importance of the organisational elections being held in the Bharatiya Janata Party can be understood in such a way that BJP leaders from the state are reaching the court of BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda directly for lobbying. Many leaders secretly, while many leaders openly reached JP Nadda’s Delhi court and lobbied to get the post of president.
In February 2024, a group of MLAs and former MLAs who left Congress and joined BJP had specially reached Jagat Prakash Nadda and also requested for the appointment of district and mandal presidents. There was a lot of controversy before the appointment of the president by the tax committee in many organizational districts. Factionalism within the party also came to the fore, but the BJP high command did damage control and got the election completed unanimously.
After the appointment of presidents in seven organizational districts, a new president of BJP is to be elected in the state. There are also strong discussions about Dr. Rajiv Bindal being re-elected as the state president. If this happens, he will become the president for the third time.
