Hamirpur: BJP staged a sit-in protest at Gandhi Chowk in Hamirpur against the celebration program to be held in Bilaspur on the completion of two years of Congress government in Himachal Pradesh and raised slogans against the state government and Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. On this occasion, former cabinet minister and MLA Vikram Thakur, MLA Indra Dutt Lakhanpal, MLA Ashish Sharma, former MLA Rajendra Rana, state BJP secretary Narendra Atri, BJP district president Deshraj Sharma, district BJP officials and workers from all blocks were present.
During the sit-in protest, the state government was also accused of not fulfilling the promises made to the public. BJP leaders, holding placards in their hands, questioned the government on 10 guarantees. BJP leaders said that the government and its friends are having a gala time in the state. Illegal mining has reached its peak. Himachal is being ridiculed due to the anti-people decisions of the government. It has become difficult for the government to pay salaries to the employees and pensioners of the state.
Industry Minister and MLA Vikram Thakur said that the business of illegal mining is flourishing during the tenure of the Congress government in the state. Instead of tightening the noose on the mining mafia, the government is working to give them benefits. Taking a jibe at the celebrations of the Congress government, MLA Vikram Thakur said that the government should mourn its 2-year tenure and not celebrate it.
In these two years, every section of the state is unhappy. Neither the unemployed are getting employment nor the promise made to women has been fulfilled. The present government is just lying everywhere. He said that through the Jan Akrosh Rally, the Bharatiya Janata Party is making the public aware that this government has completely failed. The government has not been able to fulfill the promises by which it came to power.
Hamirpur MLA Ashish Sharma, accusing the government of cheating the public, said that celebrations are held for the work of the public, but all sections are unhappy due to the 2-year tenure of the state government. He said that the Congress government has ruined the state and corruption is at its peak in the state.
