Shimla: In Bathara village of Shahdhar Panchayat of Rampur in Shimla district, a bear broke into the cowshed and attacked the cow and its calf tied there. The bear also attacked a 72-year-old man who came to intervene and seriously injured him. The seriously injured man was taken to Khaneri Hospital in Rampur, where he is undergoing treatment.
The bear entered Bathara village at 11 pm on Tuesday night. Here it broke into Shali Ram’s cowshed and entered inside it. The bear attacked the cow and calf tied in the cowshed and injured them badly. During this, when 72-year-old Shali Ram heard the groaning sounds of the cow and the calf, he immediately came out of his house and while trying to intervene, the bear also attacked him. Shali Ram has suffered a deep injury on his head in the bear attack.
During this, Shali Ram’s wife came out and started screaming loudly. Hearing the screams, the bear fled from the spot. As soon as the villagers got information about the incident, they immediately reached the spot, and the injured man was taken to Khaneri Hospital with the help of 108 ambulances. Village head Mahendra Singh said that the forest department was also informed in this regard and the department’s team reached the spot. He has appealed to the administration and the forest department to provide all possible help to the victim.
