Bilaspur: The effect of the scorching heat in the month of May is seen in Himachal Pradesh at big extent in the form of forest fire. The incidents of forest fires are not stopping. On one hand, the maximum temperature in Una and Bilaspur, which are among the hottest districts of Himachal Pradesh, has reached 42 to 45 degree Celsius, on the other hand incidents of forest fires are being reported from different districts.
It is worth noting that so far 824 cases of forest fires have been reported in Himachal Pradesh, in which the primary assessment of loss of Rs. 2.5 crore has been done by the forest department team.
At the same time, the maximum number of cases of forest fires have been reported in the Dharamshala circle of the state. Incidents of forest fires have come to fore from in Hamirpur, Mandi and Bilaspur circles.
Giving information about this, Munish Parwari, Chief Forest Officer of Forest Protection and Fire Control in Forest Department Himachal Pradesh, said that in the forest fire incidents are reported in areas of Dharamshala, Hamirpur, Mandi and Bilaspur,where there are more cheel trees.
He further said that team of Forest Department and Fire Department is making full efforts to control the fire with mutual cooperation, but due to lack of full cooperation of local people in many places, more damage is being seen due to fire in the forests.
