Kinnaur: The body of martyr Havildar Rohit Negi of Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh was brought to his native village of Taranda on Tuesday after almost nine months. During this, the whole village echoed the slogans of Rohit Negi Amar Rahe. The people involved in the last funeral procession of the martyr bid him farewell with moist eyes.
Rohit Negi was posted in the Dogra Regiment. In October last year, Rohit Negi, along with some other soldiers, got buried in a glacier during duty in Kashmir. During that time, only the body of a martyred soldier was found, while Rohit’s body was found four days ago.
After this, Rohit’s body was brought to Kargil, from where it was brought directly to Chandigarh and this morning to the native village of Taranda.
The family and relatives were informed about this two days ago.
After Rohit’s body reached the village this morning, a large number of people came to pay their last respects. On behalf of the administration, Tehsildar Bhavanagar Arun, along with the police team, participated.
