BRC written exam postponed in Himachal; Paper to be held on 6th April

The first reason is the duty of teachers in the board exam and the second reason is the closure of roads and paths due to snowfall in the tribal areas of Himachal.

The Education Department in Himachal Pradesh has postponed the written examination of the Block Resource Coordinator (BRC) proposed on 23 March. Now this exam will be taken on 6 April. This has been confirmed by Rajesh Sharma, Project Director of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. The Education Department has postponed this examination due to two reasons. The first reason is the duty of teachers in the board exam and the second reason is the closure of roads and paths due to snowfall in the tribal areas of Himachal.

Many roads and paths are closed due to heavy snowfall last week in Pangi-Bharmaur of Chamba district and higher areas of Lahaul Spiti district. In view of this, the department has postponed the date of the written examination of BRC.

Exam will be taken for 282 posts

This examination will be taken for 282 posts of BRC. In this, 141 BRCs will be kept in primary and the same number in upper primary. For this, about 800 teachers of the state have applied to the Education Department. Junior Basic Teacher (JBT), Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) and Lecturer apply for BRC.

Project Director Rajesh Sharma said that for the first time, the BRC paper will be taken on OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) sheet. The department has completed its preparations. Under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, two BRCs are appointed in each block. One BRC will be selected from JBT, while the second BRC will be selected from TGT and lecturer.
