Kinnaur: The case of the suspicious death of Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Chief Engineer Vimal Negi is gaining momentum. In a candle march taken out in Kinnaur, the deceased’s wife Kiran Negi raised serious questions on the functioning of the police.
Kiran Negi said that she had given the names of three officers in her statement to the SIT. These include Managing Director Harikesh Meena, Director Deshraj and Director Personnel Shivam Pratap Singh. She alleged that these three officers were harassing Vimal Negi.
Chief Minister Sukhu and DIG had assured to form SIT. The SIT under the leadership of Additional Chief Secretary was to submit its report in 15 days. 15 days have passed, but no report has come out yet. Police have only questioned Deshraj.
The accused is roaming freely after his bail was cancelled
Kiran Negi said that despite the High Court’s cancellation of his bail, Deshraj was roaming freely in Shimla. The police did not arrest him. The police claimed that his phone was being tracked, but he reached Delhi. He said that the police is diverting this matter to another direction. Meanwhile, the BJP is continuously demanding a CBI inquiry in this matter. The party is taking out candle marches across the state. On Saturday, a candle march was also taken out in Vimal Negi’s home district, Kinnaur, during which Kiran Negi also raised the question that why is the government avoiding a CBI inquiry.
Kiran Negi said that according to the postmortem report of Vimal Negi, Vimal died on 13-14th. In such a situation, why does the police not investigate where he was on 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th. The family alleges that he was kidnapped and murdered. It is being portrayed as a suicide.
Kiran Negi has asked how many cases of corruption are there in Shong Tong and Pekhwala power projects. He has nothing to do with them but get them investigated so that Vimal Negi gets justice. He said that he has given a statement to SIT chief ACS Omkar Sharma and has named people in it. Why is the state government avoiding a CBI investigation? They should get a CBI investigation done.
