Shimla: Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla received heavy rain on Friday morning. Amidst this heavy rain, a car reached the Shimla Ridge. A car with Chandigarh number plate violated the rules on Shimla’s restricted Ridge ground. Taking advantage of the rain, the car driver drove the vehicle on the Mall Road. The video of this entire incident is going viral on social media.
Actually, there is a complete ban on the movement of common vehicles on Shimla’s Ridge and Mall Road. Only emergency vehicles can pass through here or a vehicle can pass in emergency situations after permission. A fine of Rs 1500 to 3000 is imposed for breaking the rules.
The MLA’s car was also challaned
Meanwhile, SHO Dharm Sen Negi of Sadar Police Station said that the matter has come to his notice. The police is investigating it. We will take appropriate action as per the rules. Let us tell you that recently, the car of an MLA from Himachal Pradesh also reached Mall Road. The police had issued a challan of Rs 1500 for it. Before that, the car of another honorable also reached there.
Locals say that the Ridge ground is now turning into a “Gedi route”. Banned vehicles reach here almost everyday. Police is investigating the matter.
