Himachal Pradesh: ED take records of private hospitals from banks in fake Ayushman card case

According to the ED's investigation into the Ayushman Yojana so far, crime proceeds of about Rs 25 crore are involved in this case.

Shimla: In the case of fraud of crores through fake Ayushman cards, the ED will also take records of private hospitals from banks. Apart from the health department, the ED will also investigate the records of bank transactions. In the Ayushman fraud case, the ED seized four bank lockers and 140 related bank accounts. ED is also investigating the balance sheets of private hospitals. ED will cross-match the balance sheets of private hospitals with the records of the health department. ED has also started the process of summoning the records of private hospitals from the health department. ED seized many documents of health schemes during the raid in private hospitals. ED will also interrogate the accused regarding the fraud of crores through fake Ayushman cards.

Many important revelations related to the fraud of crores through fake Ayushman cards can be made during the ED’s interrogation of the accused. ED is also investigating the property of the hospitals. According to the ED’s investigation into the Ayushman Yojana so far, crime proceeds of about Rs 25 crore are involved in this case. ED had recently raided 20 places in Delhi, Chandigarh, Punjab, Kangra, Una, Shimla, Mandi, and Kullu districts of Himachal Pradesh under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002. ED had seized Rs 88 lakh in cash, four bank lockers, and 140 related bank accounts during the raids.
