Mandi : Under the chairmanship of Chief Electoral Officer Manish Garg, a necessary meeting was organized with the nodal officers appointed for various activities in the district in view of the Lok Sabha elections in the DRDA conference room on Saturday.

He instructed all the nodal officers to ensure compliance with the guidelines given by the Election Commission of India to conduct the Lok Sabha Elections-2024 in a free, fair, transparent and peaceful manner.
He said that all nodal officers should discharge their responsibilities with full devotion. He said that to increase the voting percentage, more and more voters should be made aware so that no voter is deprived of voting.
Maximum awareness camps should organized to increase voting pc
He said that in polling stations where less than 60 percent voting took place in the last elections, booth level icons should be made and maximum awareness camps should be organised.
The Chief Electoral Officer also took stock of the arrangements related to polling stations, security of EVMs and VVPAT machines, web casting, disposal of complaints of C-Vigil app, ensuring compliance of Model Code of Conduct, sweep activities and other election arrangements.
He said that various training workshops being conducted by the Election Commission are important. Therefore, all concerned officers should be personally present in the training programs. He said that more and more people should be made aware about C-Vigil so that election related complaints can be resolved immediately.
Also stressed on necessary training to presiding officers to conduct smooth elections

He also instructed all the Assistant Election Officers to keep an eye on the e-mail of their office. The Chief Electoral Officer also reviewed the security arrangements in the district, special arrangements made for the convenience of disabled voters, voters voting through postal ballots, arrangements made for the elderly above 85 years of age and voter awareness campaign. .
In the meeting, Deputy Commissioner and Election Officer Apoorva Devgan informed about the preparations for the elections in the district. Additional Deputy Commissioner Rohit Rathore, Additional District Magistrate Dr. Madan Kumar, all the SDMs of the district along with the nodal officers appointed for the elections were also present in the meeting.
Checks counting centers and strong room
After this, Chief Electoral Officer Manish Garg also inspected the counting centers and strong rooms established in Government Vallabh College, Mandi and Jawahar Lal Nehru Government Engineering College, Sundernagar. He also gave necessary directions to the concerned officials during the inspection.
