Chamba: Shiv Shakti Youth Club catch two drug smugglers, handed over to police

Shiv Shakti Youth Club in Dalhousie of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh caught two drug smugglers last evening. After this, they were beaten up and then handed over to the police. On the basis of secret information, some youths of Shiv Shakti Youth Club reached a rented room in Banikhet and searched the two boys present there.

Intoxicating capsules, chitta (heroin), and other intoxicating materials were recovered from both of them. After this, the club members informed the local police about this and handed over both youths to the police late at night.

The names of the smugglers caught are Binkal (Bikku) and Vinod Sahu. It is being said that these people had bought chitta from a person named Deepu from Pathankot. The person from whose rented room both the smugglers were caught is said to be absconding.

Shiv Shakti Youth Club chief Praveen Tandon said that incidents of drug abuse are increasing in the area. He has asked all the people to take similar action against those involved in drug trade and inform the police and Shiv Shakti Club about drug smuggling.

Tandon said that the club will continue to make efforts to stop such activities in the future as well.
